Time-dependent density functional theory applied to average atom opacity

چکیده

We focus on studying the opacity of iron, chromium, and nickel plasmas at conditions relevant to experiments carried out Sandia National Laboratories [J. E. Bailey et al., Nature 517, 56 (2015)]. calculate photo-absorption cross-sections subsequent for using linear response time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT). Our results indicate that physics channel mixing accounted in TD-DFT leads an increase bound-free quasi-continuum, where models under-predict iron opacity. However, seen our calculations is only range 5-10%. Further, we do not see any change this trend chromium nickel. This behavior indicates effects explain trends observed experiments.

Time-dependent density functional theory applied to superfluid nuclei

We describe the response of superfluid nuclei to any external time-dependent probe within an extension of the density functional theory, the time-dependent superfluid local density approximation (TD-SLDA). All quasi-particle wave functions (qpwfs) are represented on a threedimensional spatial grid to allow for the breaking of all possible symmetries, and subsequently these functions are evolved...

Time-dependent density functional theory.

Time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) can be viewed as an exact reformulation of time-dependent quantum mechanics, where the fundamental variable is no longer the many-body wave function but the density. This time-dependent density is determined by solving an auxiliary set of noninteracting Schrodinger equations, the Kohn-Sham equations. The nontrivial part of the many-body interacti...

The Keldysh Formalism Applied to Time-dependent Current-density- Functional Theory

In this work we demonstrate how to derive the Kohn-Sham equations of time-dependent current-density functional theory from a generating action functional defined on a Keldysh time contour. These Kohn-Sham equations contain an exchange-correlation contribution to the vector potential. For this quantity we derive an integral equation. We further derive an integral equation for its functional deri...

Time-dependent density functional theory applied to nonsequential multiple ionization of Ne at 800 nm.

Time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) is employed to study the interaction of a Ne atom with short and strong 800\,nm laser pulses. In the intensity regime covered (10;14-10;16 W/cm;2) up to triply ionized Ne is observed. Good quantitative agreement with the experimental Ne;+ ion-yield (and the Ne;2+ -yield near saturation) is obtained. Nonsequential ionization (NSI) leads to a stron...
